Professor Jones is a Councillor of the Engineering Committee for Oceanic Resources, Chairman of Earth Ocean and Space Pty Ltd. and CEO of the Ocean Nourishment Foundation. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Marine Science and Technology and the Journal of Ocean Technology.
Dr Jones' education include a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering in 1967 from the University of Waterloo. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer and a member of 5 professional societies.
